This is the raw wool that has been skirted from the primary fleece. It can include second cuts, leg wool, belly wool, neck wool, wool with heavy dirt (mud on locks), heavy vegetable matter (primarily belly, leg, and neck wool). I do throw away those tags that are poop and pee soaked, but I do include those tags that are lanolin and dirt (because they often wash out nicely).
This is wool that has many uses - for felting, making insulation, and even spinning. I include only that which I think is useful. It is available at a greatly reduced price because I hate to waste any product produced on this farm.
